Bonding composite parts at Damen Shipyard
As part of the Project Ramsses, a part of an 85 meter ship has been built from composite materials, at the Damen Shipyard in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. All composite parts have been bonded together, using the Scigrip SG300 structural adhesive with an adhesive injection technology.
It is not the first time BNS Industrial used this adhesive injection technology to bond steel- and composite parts, but it is new that it happens with such large-scale parts.
With engineering expertise of InfraCore Company and the MVP dispensing equipment of CT Platon, the SG300 adhesive injection was executed successfully.
For further information about the Scigrip SG300 adhesive and application methods, you may contact Stef Jaspersen, MD at BNS Industrial BV.
